Privacy Policy

How Rapture Photography handles your information.

Last Updated: October 2, 2026

Rapture Photography (“Rapture,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the Rapture Photography website, purchase photographs, use the Library, or contact us.

Rapture Photography is operated by an adult/parent. This policy describes the website and services as they operate at launch and may be updated as Rapture develops.

1. Information We Collect

Visitors

Rapture does not ask ordinary visitors to create a personal profile or account.

The website primarily provides pages, photographs, and photo-related information. We do not intentionally collect names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, or payment-card information from ordinary visitors simply because they browse the website.

The website and its infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver, secure, and operate the site.

Customers

When you purchase a photograph, payment is processed through Stripe Checkout.

Rapture may receive and store limited purchase information associated with the transaction, including information such as:

Rapture does not store your full payment-card number or other full payment-card details.

2. Payments Through Stripe

Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout, a payment service provided by Stripe.

When you make a purchase, you enter your payment information through Stripe’s hosted checkout. Stripe may process information necessary to complete the transaction and provide payment-related services, including receipts where configured.

Rapture uses information from Stripe, including payment status and transaction events, to verify purchases and provide access to purchased photographs.

Stripe has its own privacy practices that apply to information Stripe processes through its services.

3. Purchases and the Rapture Library

Rapture maintains limited purchase information so that we can:

Rapture retains this limited purchase information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the purchase and Library systems, handle transactions and support, maintain appropriate records, and meet applicable obligations.

The current system does not promise automatic deletion of purchase information after a specific period.

4. Library Access and Browser Storage

The Rapture Library uses browser storage to help your browser remember your Library access and certain site preferences.

The current website uses browser localStorage for information associated with:

The Library access reference is randomly generated and associated with verified purchases. Rapture stores a protected hash of this access reference rather than the raw reference itself.

This is not a traditional account or password system.

Access to a Library is tied to the browser information used to access it. Someone who has control of the relevant browser access reference may be able to access that Library.

Clearing browser storage can remove Library access from that browser. The launch version does not currently provide a separate Library-account recovery system.

5. Downloads and Photo Storage

Full-resolution original photographs are stored in private cloud storage.

When an authorized customer requests a purchased photograph, Rapture provides temporary authorization to download the specific photograph. This authorization currently lasts for approximately five minutes.

The original photo storage is not intended to provide permanent public download URLs.

A properly authorized customer may download a purchased photograph again when the Library authorizes the download.

6. Website Hosting and Technical Information

The public Rapture Photography website will be hosted through IONOS.

Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information necessary to operate, maintain, and protect the website. Depending on the service and circumstances, this may include information such as IP addresses, request information, timestamps, and security-related information.

Rapture does not claim to maintain a separate database of visitors’ IP addresses unless the website’s implementation actually does so.

7. Google Fonts

The Rapture website uses selected fonts provided through Google’s font services.

When the website loads these fonts, Google may process information associated with providing that service.

Rapture does not use Google Analytics as part of the current website.

8. Airtable and Photograph Data

Rapture uses Airtable as part of its photograph catalog and data system.

Some photograph image assets are hosted by Airtable and may therefore be requested directly by a visitor’s browser when photographs are displayed.

Airtable’s role in providing photograph assets does not mean that Rapture sends customer payment information to Airtable.

9. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

The current Rapture website does not use tracking cookies for advertising or analytics.

The current implementation does not use:

The website does use browser localStorage for certain Library and site-preference functions, as described above. Local storage is different from cookies.

10. Information You Send by Email

The Rapture Contact page currently uses an email link rather than a website contact form.

If you choose to contact Rapture by email, you decide what information to include in your message.

Information voluntarily sent by email may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:

Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not necessary for your inquiry.

11. Security

Rapture uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the services it provides.

These safeguards may include measures such as:

No website or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Rapture does not claim that its systems are 100% secure.

For security reasons, this Privacy Policy does not disclose passwords, API keys, payment secrets, storage credentials, webhook secrets, internal database paths, or other sensitive implementation details.

12. Children and Minors

Rapture is not currently describing a specific minimum user age or adopting a separate age-based policy in this launch version.

Any future rules concerning children’s or minors’ information will be added or updated as the website and its services develop and as the operator determines what requirements apply.

13. Future Community Features

Rapture may develop a Community area where additional photographers can display or eventually sell their photography.

The future Community may require participating photographers to provide information necessary to manage their participation and photography submissions.

Rapture also expects future Community rules to address issues such as ownership and rights to submitted photographs, recognizable people, copyrighted material, and other rights.

These future systems and rules are not fully described by this Privacy Policy and should not be considered implemented unless they are actually available on the website.

14. Third-Party Services

The current Rapture website may use the following third-party services as part of its operation:

These services have their own privacy practices and policies. Rapture does not reproduce those policies here.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Rapture may update this Privacy Policy when the website, services, or information practices change.

When the policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.
